First finalist in the Financial Literacy Competition for Schools
Schools that are registered in the Financial Education Programme can participate in the annual competition on financial knowledge, which aims to raise awareness among students of the importance of financial education throughout the different stages of their lives.
The students’ knowledge is tested in a contest of financial questions and answers. The first qualifying round of this year’s edition was carried out on-line, while the semi-finals are being held on-site at the branch offices of the Banco de España over the course of this week. The final will take place on Financial Education Day, as part of the central event organised in Madrid, which will be held this year at the headquarters of the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
The first semi-final was held today at the Banco de España’s branch office in Zaragoza. It was won by San Francisco Javier school (from Tudela), which competed against La Flota secondary school (from Murcia).
The second semi-final will take place on Wednesday at the Valladolid branch office of the Banco de España.
