Generation €uro Students’ Award

If you are a student in the last two years of secondary education (Bachillerato) or on an intermediate vocational course and you want to learn about the key aspects of monetary policy, the Banco de España announces the Generación €uro Students’ AwardAbre en ventana nueva each year. The competition is organised by the European Central Bank (ECB) and the national central banks of Spain, Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Slovenia and Portugal, and it consists of three phases:

  1. Online resolution of 30 multiple-choice questions on monetary policy.
  2. Preparation of an analytical proposal on the interest rate decision to be taken on a given date.
  3. Preparation and presentation of a new analytical proposal on the interest rate decision to be taken on a given date.

The winning teams from each country attend a European award ceremony held by the European Central Bank at its headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.
