The 13th Generation €uro competition gets underway


The Banco de España announces the thirteenth Generación €uro schools competition, aimed at students in upper-level secondary education and vocational training.

The main objective of the event is to raise awareness of Eurosystem monetary policy and its role as a guarantor of price stability, as well as to promote the participation of schools, teachers and students in activities related to economic and financial education.  Around 2,000 students participated in the 12th edition of this competition.

To participate, you have to form a team of between three and five students coordinated by a teacher from the same school and register on the competition websiteAbre en ventana nueva by 31 October.

The teams are faced with three tests: an online exam, the preparation of a development exercise and the presentation of an analytical proposal on monetary policy to a jury.

The prizes for the members of the finalist teams and their coordinating teachers will are a gift voucher worth 600 euros (winning team), 300 euros (runner up) and 200 euros (third place). In addition, all students and coordinators of the three finalists, as well as the corresponding school, will receive a diploma.
