Most bank charges are unregulated. Banks are therefore free to set whatever charges they wish, unless there is a regulatory limit, such as in the case of the early repayment of mortgages or consumer loans.

Bank charges are fees banks deduct for the services they provide (such as performing transfers, exchanging currency, running an account, assessing a loan, issuing a credit card, etc.)
