Registration for the School Programme and the 2022-2023 Financial Literacy Competition is now open!
08/11/2022
The Financial Education Plan - promoted by the Banco de España, the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation - launches the eleventh edition of its Financial Literacy Competition and Programme.
The aim of the programme is to introduce basic financial content into the classroom, following OECD recommendations, enhancing students' knowledge, skills and abilities to understand key concepts such as savings, income, personal budgeting and responsible consumption.
Enrolment in the programme is voluntary and free of charge. Also, each school can deliver the content in the way that best suits its syllabus.
The contents are mainly intended for students in the last four years of secondary school (ESO and Bachillerato) and on vocational courses. However, it can be adapted by the teacher to other school levels.
The Financial Literacy Competition is organised among the students of the schools registered in the School Programme who wish to take part. It consists of a financial quiz that is played by teams in several knock-out stages, both online and face-to-face. The final is traditionally held at the main event of Financial Education Day, which will take place on 2 October 2023.
