International Education Day: our committment to financial education

Today we celebrate International Education Day under the slogan ‘AI and Education: Preserving Autonomy in an Automated World’. The Banco de España has been working for years to promote financial education. To achieve our goal, AI can be a fundamental tool, but we need to be aware of its real potential and its risks.

In pursuit of this goal, we dedicated the last Financial Education DayAbre en ventana nueva to digital finance, focusing on the opportunities that the digital environment offers young people and the need to be aware of the risks associated with the use of technology. During the event, we gave a demonstration of the use and limits of artificial intelligence in an entrepreneurial project, emphasising both its benefits and its risks.

The Banco de España collaborates with the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business and the National Securities Market Commission on the Financial Education Plan (PEF), which aims to improve people’s financial literacy.
