All about banknotes and coins

Cash is still the most widely used means of payment in Spain and, although we have other means of payment at our disposal, most of the small payments made in stores are made with banknotes and coins.

We all use cash to a greater or lesser extent, but have you ever wondered how banknotes and coins get into our pockets? Would you know what to do if you were handed a counterfeit or damaged banknote? And is it possible to check the authenticity of coins?

We have prepared a series of seven videos to resolve these and other questions.

We begin with the video "How banknotes are produced and put into circulation", in which we tell you how euro banknote needs are calculated and how they are produced so that they are always available when you need them.
