Several European countries join forces to launch cross-border Bizum payments

Bizum is taking part in a project to make digital payments between individuals and merchants across Europe as easy and secure as they already are in Spain.
To achieve this, Bizum is working alongside other European payment platforms to assess existing solutions that have already been successfully tested in different countries, with the aim of creating a future pan-European network.
Bizum users will be able to continue using the service exactly as they do today. The difference is that they will also be able to send money to, and receive money from, people in other participating countries. It’s that simple.
In the first phase, the service will support payments between individuals. Operations with merchants will be enabled at a later stage.
