Compensation or fee for early mortgage redemption or repayment
If you decide to redeem your mortgage before it matures, the bank, in addition to having to carry out administrative procedures to finalise the transaction, will stop charging the interest and fees that it was charging while the mortgage was still in force. To compensate for what it ceases to earn, it may charge you a fee.
What requirements must be met in order to charge the compensation or fee?
- It is a percentage established by law.
- Depending on the date you signed your mortgage, the percentage and whether the fee or compensation are charged may differ.

If you signed your loan after 16 June 2019, or if you carried out a subrogation or novation after this date, you will be charged the compensation or fee for total or partial early mortgage repayment.
