Older adults are bank customers too

Financial Education Day 2023, held in Seville, spotlighted the importance of financial inclusion with the theme “Inclusive Finance - Finance for All”. A key focus of the event – unsurprisingly – was supporting older adults.

An essential measure to foster inclusion is adapting financial services to meet the needs of the senior population.

While digitalisation has its advantages, it also poses new risks that must be acknowledged. For certain population groups who struggle to integrate digital tools into their daily lives, it can be a barrier rather than a bridge.

Last year the banking associations strengthened their commitment to supporting the elderly by updating their Strategic Protocol to Reinforce the Social and Sustainable Commitment of the Banking Sector.Abre en ventana nueva

 This Protocol includes new measures to make sure everyone – especially older adults – receives personalised support.
