Money laundering. Best Practice Criteria.

Best banking practice criteria are a series of guidelines that the Banco de España has established to guide banks towards responsible, diligent and respectful customer management. You may come across some of these criteria, which are followed when handling customers’ complaints filed with the Institutions' Conduct Department, on the Bank Customer Portal.

Today we have published a new criterion relating to the restrictive measures on current accounts that banks have adopted to comply with requirements deriving from the prevention of money laundering regulations. This criterion has been revised and is applicable since 8 July 2020, the date of publication of the 2019 Annual Complaints Report.
