The Banco de España is exchanging Croatian kuna banknotes for euro banknotes and coins

On 1 January 2023 Croatia joined the euro areaAbre en ventana nueva, adopting the euro as its official currency and joining the 19 other countries that were already using it (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain).

Until 28 February 2023, the Banco de España is exchanging Croatian kuna (HRK) banknotes for euro banknotes and coins, by appointment only, at its head office in Madrid (Calle Alcalá, 48) and in Barcelona (Plaza Cataluña, 17).
