Do you still have pesetas? Hurry! Time is running out to exchange them for euros
The deadline for exchanging notes and coins in pesetas at the Banco de España expires on 31 December 2020.
How can this be done?
- By registered post, if you are not in Spain. In this case, you can send the related form beforehand electronically.
- In person at the Madrid headquarters or at any of the Banco de España branchesAbre en ventana nueva.
Owing to the current health crisis, it is necessary to make an appointment to carry out this procedure at any of the Banco de España branches. Opening hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you choose to go to the Banco de España facilities you must:

Provide proof of identity (DNI, residency card or passport).

Follow the indications and instructions provided by Banco de España staff and maintain a safe distance.

Wear a face mask at all times. Masks are available at our premises. If for medical reasons it is not advisable for you to wear one, you must provide medical documentation for exemption.
