What information will your bank send you in January?
08/01/2026
Every January your bank is required to send you a summary with important information about your products, including any interest, fees and commissions and expenses associated with your accounts and other services you may have arranged with your bank.
For each account, you will receive a document indicating:
- All fees and commissions applied in the previous year, specifying the amounts individually and in total.
- Any interest rates applied (on any interest or account overdrafts).
- Total interest accrued in the year.
Also, if you have any loans, credits or deposits, you will receive a specific summary of:
- The interest applied.
- The fees and commissions and expenses associated with each service provided in the previous year.
How will you receive this information? By post or digitally, depending on the option you indicated to your bank. If you opted to receive it online, check your inbox on your bank’s website or app.
And what if you're a joint account holder? You will receive an individual notification even if you share a bank product with other people. This document will also indicate the total number of joint holders.
The annual summary must conform to the model established in Annex 5 of Banco de España Circular 5/2012 of 27 June 2012.Abre en ventana nueva
