Winners announced for the 15th edition of Generation €uro Students’ Award

The IES Ortega y Gasset secondary school team from Madrid has won the 15th edition of the Generation €uro Students’ Award Abre en ventana nuevafor their analysis of the monetary policy decision they believed the European Central Bank should have made on 19 March 2026.
The Salamanca teams from IES Fray Luis de León and IES Francisco Salinas were awared second and third place.
Last Friday, the three teams visited the Banco de España’s head offices in Madrid, where they presented and defended their analytical proposal on monetary policy before a panel of experts.
uring the visit, the Banco de España’s Deputy Governor, Soledad Núñez, met informally with the students and answered their questions. Afterwards, the three teams were given a tour of some of the most emblematic areas of the Banco de España’s Madrid head offices.
Around 1,250 students took part in this year’s Generation €uro contest, forming 318 teams. Following the online elimination round, 71 teams qualified for the second stage, from which the three schools that competed in last Friday’s final were selected.
