Financial Education Day

Financial Education Day Abre en ventana nuevahas been held every first Monday of October since 2015. Its main aim is to raise awareness about the importance of financial literacy.

The members of the Financial Education Plan’s partner network organise a wide range of activities on this day and the following days throughout Spain, as well as holding a main event in Madrid alternating between the premises of the Banco de España and the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). During this event, the Governor and President of the two institutions, respectively, as well as the Secretary of State for Economy, report on the objectives achieved and the future challenges.

The activities were aimed at the general public or at specific groups (for instance elementary, high school and university students, small and medium entrepreneurs, or disabled people), and consisted of a wide and diverse range of events: from seminars and roundtables to radio programs, digital applications, games… even a fun run!

The next Financial Education Day will held on 2 October 2023, with the main event held at CNMV’s headquarters.
