Compensation or fee for early mortgage redemption or repayment
If you decide to redeem your mortgage before it matures, the bank, in addition to having to carry out administrative procedures to finalise the transaction, will stop charging the interest and fees that it was charging while the mortgage was still in force. To compensate for what it ceases to earn, it may charge you a fee.
What requirements must be met in order to charge the compensation or fee?
