International networking by the Banco de España to support financial education

The International Network on Financial Education (INFE) was created by the OECD to address this key issue in a coordinated manner.
The Banco de España, within the framework of the
++ Enlace Roto ++
developed jointly with the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV, by its Spanish abbreviation), is a regular member of this network. From 21-24 May 2019, it attended the conference titled Financial education of the futureAbre en ventana nueva in Cape Town (South Africa) and participated actively in various working groups there and in the Technical Committee meeting.Key issues discussed include:
- The digitalisation of financial services and the protection of users’ privacy
- Financial education for the elderly
- Financial education for employees in the workplace
- Evaluation of national financial education strategies
