While digitalisation is undoubtedly good for financial inclusion, not everyone has the digital skills needed to navigate digital environments easily and securely.

To prevent these individuals from being left behind, it is essential to provide them with the skills and knowledge needed to make informed and secure decisions in an ever-changing digital environment.

Disabled people are one example of a vulnerable group that needs adapted technologies and tailored training to ensure access to digital banking, with the ultimate aim of narrowing the digital divide.

Last year, banking associations updated the Strategic Protocol to Reinforce the Social and Sustainable Commitment of the Banking Sector,Abre en ventana nueva including new measures to ensure personalised attention for members of the public.

Indeed, banks have committed to contributing to the digitalisation process by offering training and alternative measures to those customers who, for various reasons, are not in a position to operate in a digital environment.
