Debt recovery costs. Principles of good banking practice.
The principles of good banking practice are a series of guidelines laid down by the Banco de España to steer banks towards responsible and diligent management that is respectful to their customers. Some of these principles, which are applied in the resolution of complaints lodged with the Institutions’ Conduct Department, can be found on the Bank Customer Portal.
Today we are publishing a new principle relating to debt recovery costs. This principle has been revised and the new version will be applicable from 8 October 2020, three months after the 2019 Complaints Report, to allow banks to adapt to its terms.
