Cancelling a payment card
What should I do if I no longer wish to use my card?
How can I cancel my card?
- Cards are based on indefinite duration contracts that can be terminated unilaterally by the bank or the costumer. You should simply tell your bank that you wish to cancel your card. This is best done in writting, and you should be aware of any cancellation fees that may be payable.
- Cancellation may take place at any time, unless a notice period was agreed.
- If the bank decides to cancel your card, it must have objective grounds for doing so and must notify you in advance to avoid causing you unnecessary harm.
