Interest rate on fixed-rate mortgage loans for primary residence purchase

19/10/2020

Are you thinking of taking out a fixed-rate mortgage and don’t know where to find information on current interest rates? Here we will tell you where to find it.

From the end of 2012, banks send bespoke information every quarter on the interest rates and standard charges on certain banking products.

One of these products are fixed-rate mortgage loans. This means you can find both the modal (i.e. the most frequent) annual interest rate and the arrangement fee and APR on the Banco de España's websiteAbre en ventana nueva. Bear in mind that this information is not an offer and that the bank is not bound by it. However, it does tell you what rates your bank has applied and allows you to compare with other offers.

This information is public and you can access it at any time through our calculatorAbre en ventana nueva.

To give you an idea, we will show you how the nominal interest rate and APR on mortgage loans have changed, on average, for all banks.

As you can see, they have followed a downward trend since peaking in March last year.
