Reopening an account
Can an account be reopened once it has been cancelled?
Banks are not allowed to reopen accounts simply to debit outstanding amounts.
The bank may refuse to cancel your account if you have any settlements or payments outstanding, and you should be informed beforehand of this situation. However, if the bank does close the account, it may not reopen it under any circumstances.
