Closure by the bank
This is when the bank decides to close an account.
The bank may only close your account if it was opened with an indefinite duration and this option was stated in the terms and conditions.
You must be given at least two months’ notice of the account closure.
Once the account has been closed, the bank must repay any outstanding balance and the customer must hand in any payment instruments associated with the account, such as cheque books or bank cards.
